The hit of the 2019 film festival circuit, Asher Jelinsky’s short film Miller & Son premiered at the prestigious Clermont Ferrand International Short Film Festival in France and screened at Palm Springs Shortfest, BFI London, Outfest LA, among other festivals. With Jesse James Keitel of the upcoming ABC series Big Sky in the lead role, the film took home the highest student awards in the land, Best Live-Action Film at the BAFTA Student Film Awards and Gold Medal in the Narrative Domestic category at the Student Academy Awards.

This coming Transgender Awareness Week, join Film Festival Director Crickett Rumley and LGBTQI+ Club President Fernanda Belmar for a Q&A with Asher Jelinsky on the making of their film about a transwoman mechanic, how the film addresses issues that members of the transgender community face, tips and tricks for navigating the festival circuit, and more.
About Miller & Son:
A transwoman mechanic lives between running her family’s auto shop during the day and expressing her femininity at night until an unforeseen event threatens the balance of her compartmentalized life.
